Battlefield: Hardline Beta Review

Battlefield: Hardline is the same as Battlefield 4. If the game was released as DLC for Battlefield 4 then it would be just fine, but from the multiplayer of the Beta; there are not many things that are different. However, it will sell because Battlefield 4 is a good game and there will be a new campaign mode.
When first starting up the Beta, you only have the option of multiplayer to play through. You are introduced to the two different game modes of Heist and Blood Money.
The first game mode that I tried was Heist, which pits Criminals versus the Police; with the criminals' objective to open a vault and transport the money to secure location while the Police try to stop them by just standing over the money for a specific time to bring it back to the vault location. This is a pretty good concept in a game mode, but it led to some the matches being over pretty quickly with most people having K/D ratios of 4/3. So by the time you were actually getting adjusted to the game, you were back at the loading screen waiting for 60 seconds to repeat the sequence.
Afterwards, I tried the Blood Money game mode in which both teams rallied on location that had money and battled it out trying to bring the most money back to their vault. It was a great game mode that I had a lot more fun with playing, the matches were longer and had more aspects of teamwork than Heist. At one point, I covered a teammate from the roof while he grabbed the money and he then covered me while I grabbed the rest of the money. Then we both took off on the motorcycles that our other teammates had road in on. However, this mode could also be abused by squads because one person could just hide near the money location while his teammates would redeploy on him.
The cool thing about the maps in the Beta was that I felt more free in the surroundings; this allowed for some interesting sequences. Such as with one of my teammates placing explosives on a giant crane which fell and changed the whole landscape of that part of the map. Riding motorcycles with the camera turning as if you were actually were on the motorcycle was a very cool artistic interpretation of riding a motorcycle which made the game feel more authentic. Another thing that I found interesting was the progression while in the game, in which you would accumulate cash. Then you could spend that cash on customization options, like gadgets.
Overall, the game ran pretty smooth and felt like you were playing Battlefield just the way it is now. I'm hoping that the campaign is just as good, because the multiplayer will keep Battlefield fans happy just by staying the way it is.

Graphics: 9.5/10
Multiplayer: 8.5/10
Campaign: N/A
Presentation: 9/10

Would I buy it: I would buy it for the campaign and similar multiplayer that works.
