1. If you have a pick 1-6 in the 1st round, you should go for a top Running Back (RB) since they go away real fast. If you have a pick in that range you should pick (in order) LeSean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte, Adrian Peterson, Eddie Lacy, DeMarco Murray, or LeVeon Bell (if you still want a RB). Then you should pick another RB in round 1-4 or else you’ll have a Bad RB. Good RBs after those are (in order) Marshawn Lynch, Montee Ball, Doug Martin, Giovani Bernard, Andre Ellington, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Ben Tate, Ray Rice (suspended first 2 games), Ryan Matthews, Rashad Jennings, Alfred Morris, Frank Gore, and Toby Gerhart.
2. If you have a 1st round pick in 6-10 then you should look at other top players at their positions like Calvin Johnson, Jimmy Graham, Peyton Manning, or Drew Brees
3. Try to wait for a Quarterback (QB), there are only three QBs that are worth picking in rounds 1-3 and they are Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers. Otherwise, there are plenty good Quarterbacks to choose later. The good QBs after the elite 3 are Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson (great in preseason), Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, Cam Newton (bad WRs good hamper production, but runs for points), Tony Romo, Ben Roethlisberger, Nick Foles, and Robert Griffin III.
4. There is only one Tight End (TE) worth a late 1st round pick and that is Jimmy Graham. Also, there are only 3 premier tight ends like Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski (always gets hurt, but great when plays), and Julius Thomas. The last two mentioned should be drafted in the 3rd Round or after.
5. There are lots of good Wide Receivers (WR) in fantasy football to grab. You should target them in the 2nd Round to get great ones. Examples are (in order) Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, AJ Green, Brandon Marshall, Julio Jones, and Antonio Brown. After that look at Rec, Touchdowns (TD), and Yards to choose good WRs. Some good WR are Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Alshon Jeffery, Keenan Allen, Julian Edelman, Golden Tate, Michael Floyd, Percy Harvin (injury prone, but great player when he plays) TY Hilton, Kendall Wright, Emmanuel Sanders, Cordarrelle Patterson, Torrey Smith, Jeremy Maclin (injury prone), Brandin Cooks, Eric Decker, Kelvin Benjamin, Mike Evans, and Justin Hunter and pick Tavon Austin last. DON’T PICK JOSH GORDON HE IS SUSPENDED FOR THE YEAR.
6. Watch for trends. If people start to do a run on QBs, then you might have to think about drafting one earlier than you would want.
7. Draft a Defense and Kicker with your last picks unless there is run on them.
8. Watch out for these players (try to not pick) Marshawn Lynch (split-time), Arian Foster (injury), Trent Richardson (Bad Production), Reggie Bush (split-time), Nick Foles (one-year wonder?), Robert Griffin III (Bad in Preseason), Reggie Wayne (injury), Roddy White (old), DeSean Jackson (inconsistent), Mike Wallace (very inconsistent), Marques Colston (old), Anquan Boldin (old), any Jacksonville Jaguar, Dwayne Bowe (inconsistent), Wes Welker (old) and Vincent Jackson (inconsistent)
